Every loaf at Taste Rite spends a full 24-hour fermentation — because the best bread can't be hurried, only honored.
Our 12-year-old sourdough starter is the soul of everything we bake. Fed daily with organic unbleached flour and filtered water, it gives every loaf its distinctive tang and open crumb.
Each dough is hand-folded every 30 minutes during bulk fermentation — a ritual that builds structure without mechanical intervention. You can feel the difference in every bite.
We bake in batches using a deck oven at 480°F, injecting steam for that signature shatteringly crisp crust. Every morning at 5 AM, the bakery fills with the sound of cooling loaves.
Taste Rite Bakery started with a single question: what would happen if we stopped treating bread like a product and started treating it like a craft? The answer came slowly — and intentionally.
We opened our doors on Church Avenue with a deck oven, a jar of starter we'd been nurturing for a decade, and a commitment to never cut a corner that affects flavor. That means no commercial yeast. No shortcuts. No pre-heated assumptions about what bread should be.
Today, every loaf that leaves our oven has earned its place on your table. We bake for our neighbors — the people who walk in smelling like morning and leave carrying something made with care.
